The Abacus Group is a consulting and research firm. The founding principals of Abacus come from a strong behavioral science background, which forms the basis of all our programs. Our evidence-based and health behavior incentivize programs can help employers save money on health care costs. Abacus has been in business for 20 years, and our nationally recognized principals have over 100 years of collective consulting experience among them. We are particularly focused on the needs of employers and employer coalitions. Abacus has worked with a variety of clients, including both for and non-profit companies, large self-insured and small fully funded corporations, payers, and providers. No matter the client, Abacus strives to work with each one to develop a program to fit the needs of each unique population.
Abacus has been awarded over $8 million in federal funding from Small Business Innovation Research grants from multiple divisions of the federal government including the National Institutes on Health and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Those grants primarily funded the research and development of evidence-based, consumer decision-support eHealth tools that are effective in improving health outcomes. Today Abacus utilizes those tools within our Good Health GatewaySM web portal, a primary communication vehicle, to support individuals in managing their health.
