Dr. Ahern served as co-chair for the “Informatics for Consumer Health: Summit on Communication, Collaboration, and Quality” in Potomac, Maryland sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and collaborative NIH Institutes on November 5-6, 2009 and facilitated a breakout session on the role of consumer informatics in improving health care quality, safety, and efficiency and reducing health disparities.
